This cocktail works well with the blend of earth and nut and honey flavors. Each of the ingredients acts both as a compliment and a foil to the others, with the agave flavors in the tequila marrying with both the fruit of the sherry as well as the sweeter honey, but standing on as it's own as a base; the complex flavors of the sherry are accented by the slight age in the tequila as well as the bitters; the Barenjager adding a little bit of body, while still maintaining the overall punch of the drink; and the lemon oils twisted on top making sure that the entire drink is not too heavy. It is definitely a balance act that gives you a drink greater than the sum of its parts.
Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass. Stir over ice and strain into Nick and Nora glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.
"Meditation wine," ideal to be slowly appreciated, to become totally immersed in the full range of well balanced sensations this exceptional wine has to offer. It may accompany nuts, cured cheeses and, at the table, the more concentrated consommés, stews and gelatinous meats (bull's tail, cheeks...)
Serve it between 12° and 14° C in a white wine glass.
It combines the subtlety of an Amontillado with the roundness of an Oloroso.
Its composition allows it to be stored in open bottles for months.
