The Consejo Regulador de Manzanilla y Vinos y Vinagre de Jerez [FW1] has long pioneered the promotion of training for wine professionals and enthusiasts, providing access to educational courses, seminars and materials about the origins, history and enjoyment of Sherry Wines.
Until now, this training has been provided by the Regulatory Board through face-to-face workshops. With the launch of the new e-learning platform, anyone can immerse themselves in the world of Sherry Wines, wherever they are in the world.
To access the platform, you must register for free at Sherry Academy. The first two courses will be available free of charge, and on completion of each course, students will receive a certificate signed by the President of the Board, César Saldaña. Students will also be able to include their certification on their LinkedIn professional network profiles.
BASIC COURSE: WINES OF THE P.D.O. JEREZ
This 100% online course, open to all and free of charge, is aimed at those with no previous knowledge of Sherry Wines. The qualification provides a practical introduction to the world of P.D.O. Sherry Wines (Protected Designation of Origin), catering specifically to beginners.
ADVANCED COURSE: WINES OF THE P.D.O. JEREZ
This 100% online course, open to all and free of charge, is designed for those who already have some knowledge of Sherry Wines, and want to specialise in the subject. The intensive course covers key topics such as history, the cultivation of the vineyard, and how the wine is elaborated.

1. Go to your LinkedIn profile.
2. Go to the “Education” section.
3. Click on the “+” icon
4. In the first section of the form (“School”) search for “Sherry Academy” and fill in the relevant details.

In addition, at the end of each course you can download a digital diploma signed by the President of the Regulatory Council of the P.D.O. Jerez, César Saldaña.
EUROPEAN P.D.O. PROMOTION CAMPAIGN
In 2020, the EU launched a promotion programme for the Protected Designation of Origins of Jerez-Xérès-Sherry, Manzanilla de Sanlúcar and Vinagre de Jerez.
The aim of the campaign is to increase the competitivity and consumption of EU agri-food products with P.D.O.s, such as P.D.O. Jerez-Xérès-Sherry, P.D.O. Manzanilla de Sanlúcar and P.D.O. Sherry Vinegar.
With this programme, these P.D.O.s aim to increase consumer knowledge and awareness of the E.U.’s P.D.O. Quality Seal. The communication strategy promotes the message that a P.D.O. is much more than just an origin, but an authentic and traditional product offering guaranteed quality.
