Mark your calendars (and chalk your barrels) because Sherry Week, the world's largest international celebration dedicated to all things Sherry, returns this 4-10 November.
Every year, the vibrant global Sherry community comes together for one week of gastronomical and cultural events that highlight the fortified wine’s versatility and variety, from the dry crispness of Fino to the velvety, rich sweetness of Cream.
Since 2014, more than 20,000 events have taken place worldwide, with the Consejo Regulador for Jerez-Xérès-Sherry and Manzanilla’s stamp of approval. More than half a million wine-lovers – from seasoned Sherry experts to recent converts – have explored its rich heritage and unique production, from vineyard to cask to pour. And more importantly… indulged in it.
Last year alone saw over 3,000 events take place in 28 countries; swirling from the Spanish heartland of Sherry, Jerez, to the streets of London, São Paulo, Tokyo, New York, Buenos Aires, Sydney, and hundreds more cities – creating a ripple across social media.
This 11th edition will see the evolution of its wildly successful Sherry Rutas, curated multi-venue routes offering exclusive pairing events. Not your typical crawl, this is more a triumphant strut – with tipples, tastings and tapas.
