Three people with a love of cooking with Sherry have recently provided pour and pair recipes for us, we've asked them why they find Sherry so inspirational for their recipes
Sherry was the driving force behind the website 'Getting Fortified'. Sherrylover Gail Charlesworth created the website to combine her love of sherry and cooking, says Gail
From Fino to PX, Sherry has it covered for all food styles, from seafood to sticky puddings
'Cooking Elle' started her recipe blog as a Law student and has loved cooking from an early age. Her blog 'What the C00K' features many recipes which incorporate sherry, as it adds a twist to even the most simple of foods. "Having spent a lot of time in Spain and eating a lot of Spanish food, using sherry in my cooking has been a natural progression. The diversity of flavours across the different styles makes it a truely versatile ingredient and it provides the perfect excuse to have a glass in your hand as you cook!'
Lastly, Carol Harris, aka Miz Pepperpot, is a prolific recipe writer and contributor to many websites. She was recently awarded the title of "Home Cook of the year" by The Guardian newspaper, many of her recipes are featured on their website. Her dishes are a fusion of styles, especially with a carribean influence, which she finds sherry pairs perfectly with.
I love cooking with Sherry, it's my wine of choice for cooking. I much prefer it to using ordinary wine, as it has a much deeper flavour.
You'll find all of the recipes for the dishes from our contributors on our pour and pair pages.
If you fancy yourself as a #Sherrychef, we'd love to see your recipes and feature them on our website. Get in touch!
We'll leave the final words to Gail .... 'Try a recipe, chill the sherry and chill yourself!'
