Once a year the UK's leading wine trade professionals attend the Great Sherry Tasting for a day of masterclasses and education about one of the world's most special wines.
Hosted by Beltran Domecq, president, Consejo Regulador Jerez y Manzanilla, the event showcases the largest collection of Sherry in the UK - this year nearly 200 wines, from 30 producers represented by 22 importers.
Masterclasses
In addition, guests can register for one of three one-hour masterclasses. Topics this year include:
11am Sherry Uncovered, a recap of how Sherry is made and the wide range of styles produced in the 'Sherry Triangle';
1pm Food Matching with Fiona Beckett, guests will experience a few of Fiona's favourite Sherry flavour combinations and get a sneak preview of her new Sherry ebook '101 Great Ways to Enjoy Sherry', and;
3pm The Sherry Landscape, a rare look behind the labels and the bodegas to the vineyards that each provide something unique to the wines made from their soils. This session will also preview new DO vineyard maps, released exclusively for the event by the CRDO.
Also at the event will be a feature on Sherry Cocktails - where we will be announcing details of the CLASS Bar Sherry Academy. Sherry Cocktails are an emerging trend with the UK's top bar-tenders and guests will be shown how Sherry adds a whole new flavour dimension to well-known and new cocktail receipes.
To register to attend the Great Sherry Tasting simply complete the online registration form (trade only).
Please note: Registration closes 10am on Friday 9 September. Guests can register on the day by presenting their business card to staff on arrival.
