Gavin Holt

I have twelve years’ experience of sales and marketing, including two years buying within the wine and spirit industry. Three years with a specialist off-licence, three years with a multiple grocer and another five years with independent specialists. I have an in-depth knowledge of wines and spirits, having passed the Wine and Spirit Education Trust Diploma in 2002 and attended Plumpton College, which is renowned for being the UK’s centre for excellence in wine and obtained the HND in Wine Studies in 2004. I also attended the Official Sherry Education Course run by the Regulatory Council in Jezez in October 2005.
During this time, I was the person behind madaboutsherry and The Sherry Academy (projects run by The Sherry Institute of Spain). I am now continuing with my passion for Sherry passing on my knowledge to interesting parties. I will once again be hosting sherry tastings and sherry education courses under my own venture at www.certifiedsherryeducator.wine.
