John is an experienced educator, teaching WSET Wine and Spirits courses in Manchester and North West England. He runs his own wine tasting events for members of the public and businesses, as well as undertaking speaking engagements and consumer tastings on behalf of brands and wine bodies. A member of the Association of Wine Educators, he has spent the majority of his career in the wine and hospitality trades. He aims to try demystify the complex world of wine, and get younger generations interested, in a world of cocktails, craft spirits and beers competing for their attention. He strongly feels Sherry wines are criminally undervalued and misunderstood.
