Sherry week / United Kingdom / Halesworth
The Spanish wines from Jerez have an unparalleled history and include some of the finest, most carefully vinified, aged and matured wines of the world. However, the anglicised name of Jerez - Sherry - brings with it quite a lot of baggage as it is not uncommon for us Brits to only associated the word Sherry with memories of Aunt Celia or Granny being served their compulsory glass of Harvey’s Bristol Cream at Christmas.
In defence of wines of Jerez, our Definitely Not Just for the Vicar tasting will take place in International Sherry Week and showcase eight different Sherries to suit different budgets and occasions. The aim is demystify the great wines of Jerez, to illustrate the different styles available and to recommend different options way to pair the different Sherry styles with food.
While some options will be sweet enough to please Aunt Celia, others on show will be bone dry but all will showcase the quality and variety that is the hallmark of the wines of Jerez.
